Two Tip Tuesday #5: Summer Parenting Tips for Fun Activities, Managing Childhood Anxiety, and More!

Summer is in full swing and I'm in 7th heaven! I love this time of year. The sun sets late, I can walk the dog in shorts at night, and there are no school lunches!

Let's get started with Two Tip Tuesday so you can enjoy a summer full of activities for your family. If you missed last week's tip, you can find it right here

1.  Enter the Room with No Agenda

A while back, I noticed that every time I walk into a room where my kids are hanging out, I have an agenda:

Time to get ready for bed guys.

Please put your shoes away.

Do you want to go Nick's birthday party?

No more computer time. We have to leave.

I'm gonna make lunch now. What do you want?

So I challenged myself to practice walking into the room with no agenda, to just sit on the couch and be. Wow, is it hard! But so worth it and magical.

I challenge you to try it.

Start by noticing how often you walk into the room on a mission. Then take the next step. Practice walking into the room with no agenda and just be. Notice how it feels.

I'd love to hear how it goes.

2.  Struggling with Childhood Anxiety? Join our Book Group

I'm not a big reader, so when I invest time in a book, it's usually because my clients are struggling with something that I want to learn more about.

This month, anxiety has been a hot topic so I decided to read a new (to me) book called "The Opposite of Worry: The Playful Parenting Approach to Childhood Anxieties and Fears."

I'm enjoying it so much I've decided to host a parents' book group to encourage my clients (and you!) to read it too.

Would you like to join us?

We'll start with one meeting and if it goes well, we'll do another. It's totally free, but the meeting date is TBD.  Let me know if you're interested by this Sunday, June 30th! Simply click HERE and complete my form.

Looking forward to seeing what next week brings!

❤️ Rachel
